What Buyers Should Confirm Before Bulk Fabric Production
Many bulk issues begin with an incomplete approval standard. Before production starts, the buyer and supplier should align on the exact construction, color reference, hand feel, test items, tolerances, packing, and delivery requirements.
1. Lock the approved sample and specification
A physical sample must be signed off, alongside a detailed specification sheet detailing weight, width, composition, and construction.
2. Confirm color and hand-feel references
Use established color standards and approve lab dips under specific lighting conditions. Hand feel should be referenced against a known physical standard.
3. List test items, methods, and tolerances
Specify exact tests and acceptable tolerance ranges. Ambiguity here leads to disputes later.
4. Define inspection and defect handling
Agree on the inspection system and the acceptable defect rate per roll or batch.
5. Confirm packing, labeling, and shipping documents
Specify roll presentation, inner/outer packaging materials, label contents, and required documentation for customs and receiving.
6. Record change approvals in writing
Any deviations from the original standard, whether for color, weight, or delivery date, must be formally documented and approved by both parties.
A complete approval package protects both product quality and delivery. Share your checklist early so the production plan can be built around the correct standard.
